A Domainer John Gall Goes Too Far

Domaining is the business of buying, selling, developing and monetizing Internet domain names not for primary use as a website, but with the goal of profit generation with the intent of resale, like real estate. The noun form is domainer. A domainer is a person who engages in domaining. A person engaging in “domaining” is alternatively referred to as a “domaineer” and the activity is labelled “domaineering”.

There are ethical ways of domaining that I think I great like buying generic domains, expired domains, or popular general topic domains like “SwineFlu.com”.

Then there is a nasty immoral way of domaining. A perfect example of this nasty technique is what I found today when I was researching the death of Mike Tyson’s 4 year old daughter (Exodus Tyson).

Being a semi-domainer and savvy internet user myself I was curious and went straight to the TLD about Exodus Tyson, ExodusTyson-DotCom (I refuse to give this John Gall guy a back link). I understand why John Gall purchased the domain name, I understand the reason behind it, but I do not agree with it in this case.

Being a father of 5 daughters all under the aged of 9 years old, I am a little sensitive on the subject of profiting from a child’s death. When I went to the domain in question (ExodusTyson-DotCom) I expected to see a memorial type of site up or a typical “Ad Free” support the Tyson family site or something of that nature.

What did I see? A domainer’s (John Gall) attempt at a $2.00 profit, a single splash page with a picture of Mike Tyson, A heading that said Exodus Tyson - Daughter of Mike Tyson, a paragraph most likely copied from news stories about the tragic accident, and a weak ass disclaimer that said “This website is not associated with Mike Tyson, Exodus Tyson or the treadmill industry”.

When does buying/registering a domain name for a couple of dollar profit go too far? I will admit I have registered some domains that were other people’s names before, but these people were alive, older, and simply were not a small child, a little girl who tragically lost a battled to keep her life after an accident.

The domain ExodusTyson-DotCom was registered by a guy named John Gall, the registration info is below and contains his cell phone number. I actually tried to contact him for a statement without a response. John Gall owns about 400 other domain names and is obviously a “Domainer”.

IN 1990 PETER TOURIZ WENT TO WORK FOR NBC AS AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, PETER TOURIZ ALSO WORKED FOR ESPN NETWORK AND THE FLORIDA SUNSHINE NETWORK.

IN 1991 PETER TOURIZ PRODUCED A SONG FOR WORLD MUSIC ENTERPRISE, THE SONG WAS CALLED “ANOTHER LOVER”. IT CHARTED #1 ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. I WAS ALSO HIRED TO MANAGE THE ARTIST THAT SANG THIS SONG, HIS NAME WAS REMY FORMER MEMBER OF “NICE N WILD”, THAT HAD A HIT SONG CALLED “DIAMOND GIRL” THAT ALSO CHARTED AT #1 ALL OVER THE COUNTRY WITH RECORD LABEL “ATLANTIC RECORDS”. I WAS ALSO HIRED TO PRODUCE, DIRECT AND WRITE THE MUSIC VIDEO FOR “ANOTHER LOVER”. THE SONG BECAME SUCH A HIT WORLDWIDE THAT IT WAS PICKED UP BY “POLYGRAM RECORDS” IN BRAZIL AS PART OF A FREESTYLE COMPILATION ALBUM, THIS BROUGHT MY STATUS AS A PRODUCER INTERNATIONALLY.


IN 1992 PETER WAS HIRED BY A RECORD COMPANY CALLED “I.F.E.S.A.” TO PRODUCE A SOMEWHAT GROUP LIKE MENUDO. THE GROUP NAME WAS “CENTER CIRCLE”, THE SONG THAT PETER WAS HIRED TO PRODUCE WAS CALLED “NO DAÑES MI CORAZON” WHICH WAS AT #3 IN THE INTERNATIONAL POP MUSIC MARKET. IT ALSO REACHED TO MEXICO, SOUTH AMERICA AND PUERTO RICO, AND OF COURSE PETER TOURIZ WAS ALSO HIRED TO PRODUCE, DIRECT AND WRITE THEIR MUSIC VIDEO WHICH AIRED ON ALL THE POPULAR VIDEO SHOWS IN LATIN AMERICA.

THIS SAME YEAR THE GROUP FOLLOWED UP WITH A NEW 12″ ALBUM WHICH PETER TOURIZ PRODUCED ALSO, CALLED “RADIO SPEAKS OUT”, WHICH BROKE INTO THE U.S. MARKET AND SOLD NUMEROUS OF COPIES THROUGH BASSIN DISTRIBUTORS AND MAYOR RECORD STORES LIKE “SPECS” AND “PEACHES”.

IN 1993 PETER TOURIZ WAS HIRED BY “SCORPIO RECORDS” TO PRODUCE A RECORD ALBUM ENTITLED “SOLO A TI” FOR VENEZUELAN SOUTH FLORIDA RAISED ARTIST “JOSE VIZQUEL”, WHICH I WAS ALSO HIRED TO PRODUCE AND DIRECT HIS MUSIC VIDEO FOR HIS #1 HIT SONG “COMO TE EXTRAÑO”, A REMAKE OF AN OLD SONG SANG BY INTERNATIONAL FAMOUS ARTIST “LEO DAN”. THE SONG HIT INTERNATIONAL STATUS AND THE ARTIST PLAYED IN VARIOUS CONCERTS AND BENEFITS.

Marc Gafni’s Teachings

Marc Gafni’s path of study and teaching has unfolded in several stages.
In the first stage of his career, Marc Gafni was a progressive Orthodox rabbi, teaching Talmud, Kabbalah and Biblical Thought from within the Orthodox fundamentalist world in Israel and the United States. In the United States, Marc Gafni taught at Yeshiva University, serving congregations both as scholar in residence and rabbi. He founded a Jewish outreach movement in New York and Long Island public schools.
Eventually, Marc Gafni moved to Israel where he served as a rabbi and taught classical Hebrew wisdom through study of the Talmud, Kabbalah, and biblical psychology. At this stage, he wrote two Hebrew books. The first, A Certain Spirit, redefines the idea of faith, moving from the old notion of the “dogma is true” to the more radical and profound idea “I am true.” In his second book during this period, An Uncertain Spirit, Marc Gafni challenged the age-old idea that spirit could provide certainty or explain suffering, and taught the spiritual path of dancing with the uncertainty as a way of realizing the highest human potential.
At this stage, Marc Gafni began to read the Bible through the prism of what he called ‘biblical myth’ or ‘biblical archetypes.’ This work became the basis for the television shows that Marc Gafni created, wrote, and hosted for several years on National Israeli Television.

During the second stage of his study and teaching, Marc Gafni shifted much of his focus to the teaching of Hasidism, particularly an esoteric Kabbalistic teaching described by Gafni as ‘Unique Self.’ This idea has been incorporated into the Integral seminars of Ken Wilber, the Big Mind process of Genpo Roshi, and the teachings of many other spiritual teachers who were exposed to Marc Gafni’s teaching through the Integral Institute.

The idea of ‘Unique Self,’ which is the basis of his bestselling book Soul Prints, forms an important foil and paradoxical complement to the classic Buddhist teaching of No Self. Marc Gafni’s teaching seeks the integration of these two seemingly disparate moments of realization.
During this time, Marc Gafni also wrote a two-volume, 1200-page work on non-dual humanism and its expression as Unique Self. A small part of this work became his doctoral dissertation for Oxford University. These two volumes are now being prepared for publication as a project of the Idra Foundation.

I was reading some blogs today and noticed a new drug that has been approved for “human trials”. Some say this new sun tanning drug is dangerous but it has some positive results as far as I can see from the before and after images and videos online. What is next a drug that helps you get smaller feet? (For the ladies with a bigfoot insecurity).

Well looks like you don’t have to lay in the tanning be as long as normal now. I have nothing against tanning since I am normally white (almost pasty) without a tan. I personally would not take this drug, it reminds me of that old movie Soul man

A drug that stimulates the body’s tanning response — turning pasty skin caramel for up to two months  — has been approved for human trials, but not for tanning.

Although the drug will not be available for cosmetic purposes any time soon, similar compounds are already being widely abused on the pharmaceutical black market. The official product, a man made hormone called afamalenodtide, has received U.S. government approval to begin clinical trials.

“It’s a bioabsorbable implant that you just inject into the skin,” said Colin Mackie, director of business development for Clinuvel, the company bringing the drug to the U.S. “It stimulates melanin production.”

Melanin is the body’s natural pigment. It’s responsible for the color of skin and protects humans from harmful solar radiation. The drug will be tested as a treatment for patients who face serious danger from the sun’s rays, like those with rare genetic diseases or who must take immunosuppressants, Mackie said.

But online retailers already offer a similar (but not identical) compound under a more descriptive brand name, Melanotan II, which American and British health officials warn are already being abused.

“Using it could be dangerous to short and long-term health,” British health officials said in November.  It has not been tested for safety, quality or effectiveness and we don’t know the potential side effects yet.”

This week two British Medical Journal researchers warned that injecting the compound could change the size and shape of moles, which under normal circumstances can be a precursor to skin cancer.
