Yaari - Yaari.com Announces New Artificial Intelligence Technology

Summary: Yaari, an Indian social dating site, has developed an artificial intelligence technology to help its users meet others with similar preferences.

Yaari, an Indian social networking site, recently announced the release of a new artificial intelligence technology that will help match users with similar preferences.

“Our intelligent algorithm takes information each user gives us about his / her preferences on things like music, movies, games and personal habits, and analyzes that information to match users with each other” said Prerna Gupta, the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

The algorithm uses advanced artificial intelligence techniques developed by Yaari’s CTO, Parag Chordia, who has a PhD in the field, and also includes well-known methods such as collaborative filtering.

Yaari expects the new algorithm to establish the company as India’s leading social dating site, which it sees as a significant opportunity against other social networking sites targeting the Indian demographic.

Yaari has a userbase of over 1.5 million registered members.

The Remote Car Key Trick

Remote Car Key

If your remote car door opener does not seem to have the range to reach your car across the street or from inside your home. Hold the metal key part of your key fob against your chin, then push the unlock button. The trick turns your head into an antenna, says Tim Pozar, a Silicon Valley radio engineer.

Mr. Pozar explains, “You are capacitively coupling the fob to your head. With all the fluids in your head it ends up being a nice conductor. Not a great one, but it works.” Using your head can extend the key’s wireless range by a few car lengths.

I tested this trick out and I gained a 25 yard reach on my remote. This one really works!

Social Network Defined By Wikipedia

Thursday, February 19th, 2009

Information From Wikipedia - Social Network

A social network is a social structure which, in general, facilitates communication between a group of individuals or organizations, that are related by one or more specific types of interdependency, such as: a special or common interest; shared values; visions, ideas, or perhaps ideals; financial exchange, friendship, kinship, dislike, conflict or trade.

Social network analysis views social relationships in terms of nodes and ties. Nodes are the individual actors within the networks, and ties are the relationships between the actors. The resulting graph-based structures are often very complex. There can be many kinds of ties between the nodes. Research in a number of academic fields has shown that social networks operate on many levels, from families up to the level of nations, and play a critical role in determining the way problems are solved, organizations are run, and the degree to which individuals succeed in achieving their goals.

In its simplest form, a social network is a map of all of the relevant ties between the nodes being studied. The network can also be used to determine the social capital of individual actors. These concepts are often displayed in a social network diagram, where nodes are the points and ties are the lines.

Google Makes Big Human Error

Monday, February 2nd, 2009

Don’t be worried if it seemed like the entire internet was infected with a virus or something early on Saturday morning— Google apparently tagged every search result, including its own websites, as something that “may harm your computer.”

The “glitch in the matrix” seems to be fixed, I noticed this and tried to find out what happened and found the update link below on another blog.

Update: Google has put out the official word on what happened. In a nutshell: A small bit of human error resulted in a falsely identified internet full of malware.

Captcha Codes Getting Hard To Read

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

I am not a big fan of internet SPAM, but I am also not a big fan of captcha codes… You know those little image verification boxes that everyone is using now. I understand the need for such a bright idea, and I understand how this great invention helps stop spam and bots from hogging up the human intended web tasks.

HOWEVER one thing that is getting on my nerves are the hard to F’ing read captcha codes that I see some website using. A really hard one that I encountered recently was on FaceBook. The image verification code was extreamly hard to read, I even saved the image show I could ask some friends to read it and see if they could figure out what the letters were.

Here is the hard to read image code:

I can clearly read the first word but look at the second word! Can you read it. Comment to this post and tell us what you think it says!

Well, thats all I have to say about hard to read captcha (image verification codes).

Delete / Remove Rip Off Reports

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

RipOffReport.com states on their website: “As is our policy, we never remove reports even when they are claimed to contain defamatory statements, and even if the original author requests it.”

It is nearly impossible to truly remove rip off report complaints from the internet completely. The website ripoffreport.com has a strong policy regarding removing rip off reports from their website once a rip off report is filed.

Ripoffreport’s website allows and even encourages companies and individuals with complaint to file an online rebuttal to explain their side of the story. What they fail to mention is that your rebuttal is hard to fin in the sense that it is shown only as a link and it is not directly appended to the original complaint for easy viewing. They also fail to mention that by filing a rebuttal you will be adding more content to the report about you and Google and other search engines may see this as a reason to rank the “report” higher on search engines.

So what do you do when your company is slammed with a nasty rip off report complaint that is higly visible on search engines like Google? Do not ignore it! Ignoring the complaint will not make it go away. Rip off report complaints rank very high on search engines and the longer you wait to act the longer and harder it will be to fix the problem.

It is a well known fact that internet users that use search engines rarely go past the first couple of pages of results when they search a keyword. I know I only read to the middle of the second page most of the time, and then I switch up my search terms if I do not find what I am looking for.

It can be a hard task to deal with a rip off report link that appears on search engines like Google. The goal is always the same… Push the link down the search results so it is hard to find the rip off report complaint. Sound easy? It’s not! It can take weeks if not months to push down these rip off report links. Plus it can cost thousands of dollars to do so. The best option when you are dealing with a rip off report complaint that you want to remove from the search engines top results, is to contact an expert that deals with rip off reports on a daily basis. You can locate such an expert at a Reputation Management company or SEO company. Tell them your goals and be prepared to cut a check for at least $1500-$10,000 to deal with it!

Here is a company that helps “remove” rip off report complaints, remember when they say “remove” they mean from the top search results, not completely off of the internet:

ReputationArmor.com has successfully helped hundreds of clients with rip off report complaints and has fair pricing and friendly customer service. Contact ReputationArmor.com today for help: 1-888-358-2766

Man Turns In To An Eyeborg

Monday, January 5th, 2009

A Canadian filmmaker plans to have a mini camera installed in his prosthetic (Fake) eye to make documentaries and raise awareness about surveillance in society.

Rob Spence is a 36 year old “eyeborg”, who lost an eye in an accident as a young man, said his so-called Project Eyeborg is to have the camera, a battery and a wireless transmitter mounted on a tiny circuit board. http://www.eyeborgblog.com/

Spence, in Brussels to appear at a media conference, said that no part of the camera would be connected to his nerves or brain.

He does not want to create a reality TV show and the camera can be turned off when not needed.

“I don’t want to go into a locker room. I don’t want to show the world me going to the bathroom either … “

Wow an eyeborg! I think I want to install a mini-cam in my nose so I can be a boogerborg…
