Create your account
Making an account and getting into the board are two different steps with an email in between. Here is the whole path, including what to do if the email never turns up.
Last updated 25 August 2026. Stuck on something this does not cover: [email protected].
Before you start
- An email address you can open right now — you cannot sign in until you have opened a link we send to it.
- A card, if you want to get past the trial gate. The trial takes a card up front and charges nothing until it ends.
Steps
Fill in the form
Go to the sign-up page and give a name, your email address and a password. The only password rule is length — at least ten characters. A few words you will actually remember beats one word with a number stuck on the end.
What it costs is printed above the boxes, trial included, so there is nothing to discover later on the payment page.
Open the email we send you
Creating the account does not sign you in. Instead the form is replaced by a panel saying we have sent a link to the address you gave, spelled the way we filed it.
Open that link. It confirms the address and nothing else — you still sign in afterwards. Until it is opened, the sign-in page will refuse the password even though the password is right.
If the mail has not arrived after a couple of minutes, the panel has a button to send another one. Check the spam folder first: a message with a single link in it is exactly what a filter is suspicious of.
Back to the sign-in page with the same address and password. If you would rather not have a password at all, Continue with Google works here too and skips the confirmation step entirely — see Sign in with Google.
Start the trial
A new account has not paid for anything yet, so the first sign-in lands on the checkout page rather than on the board. It says how long the trial runs and that the card is taken now and charged at the end of it.
Pressing the button hands you over to Stripe, who take the card details — they never reach BrainSack. Backing out at that point brings you back here with nothing charged and nothing lost.
Land on the board
Once the payment is set up you come back to a welcome page and then to your own board, which already has a couple of starter items on it explaining where things are.
What happens next
- The board is yours: type into the box at the top of it to put something in the sack.
- Nothing is set up for texting yet — that takes one more step, on the Phone page.
- Your subscription and the date the current period runs to are on the Account page.
If something goes wrong
Each row is what you see on screen. Symptoms are worded the way the app words them, so the sentence in front of you should be findable on this page.
- The confirmation email never arrived
- Check spam, then use the button on the sign-up panel or the sign-in page to send another. If two attempts produce nothing, the address may have a typo in it — sign up again with the right one and email us to clear away the first attempt.
- Sign-in says the address has not been confirmed
- The link in the email has not been opened yet. There is a button on that message to send a fresh one; the link in the older email keeps working too.
- It says the email address is already signed up
- There is already an account on it — possibly one you created and never confirmed. Use the sign-in page, and reset the password if you cannot remember it.
- It says there have been too many attempts
- Sign-ups, sign-ins and confirmation emails are all capped over a few minutes to stop the forms being sprayed. Wait the time the message names and try once more.
- You keep landing on the checkout page
- That is where an account with no active subscription goes, and everything on the board is behind it. If you have paid and are still being sent there, sign out and back in — and if that does not clear it, email us with the address on the account.
Next
- Sign in with Google — Use a Google account instead of a password, or add it to an account you already have.
- When you cannot sign in — Wrong password, unconfirmed address, too many attempts, or an account with no password at all — how to tell which.
- Your subscription — What you are paying, when the period ends, how to change a card and how to cancel.
- Put something in the sack — The box at the top of the board, the four kinds of item, and the two keystrokes worth knowing.
