Sign in with Google

Continue with Google sits beside the password on both the sign-in and sign-up pages. One BrainSack account can have a password, a Google sign-in, or both.

Last updated 25 August 2026. Stuck on something this does not cover: [email protected].

Before you start

  • A Google account whose email address you can receive mail at — the two get linked by that address.

Steps

  1. Press Continue with Google

It is on both the sign-in and the sign-up page, above the boxes. If you do not see it, this deployment is not set up for Google sign-in and a password is the only way in.

There is no separate sign-up button. Signing in with an address nobody holds is a registration — it makes the account there and then.

  2. Pick the account at Google

The browser leaves BrainSack for Google, who ask which account and whether you agree to share your name and email address. We ask for nothing else and get nothing else.

  3. Come back signed in

Google sends the browser back and the session is already set up. A brand-new account goes to checkout the way any other new account does; an existing one lands on the board.

No confirmation email is sent on this path, and none is needed — Google confirming the address is exactly the proof that email was asking for.

What happens next

  • Next time, Continue with Google is one click and no password.
  • If the address already had a BrainSack account, the two are now linked and either way in works.
  • An account made this way has no password at all — the Account page offers to add one rather than asking for a current one you never set.

If something goes wrong

Each row is what you see on screen. Symptoms are worded the way the app words them, so the sentence in front of you should be findable on this page.

It signed you into an account you did not expect
The browser was already signed into a different Google account. Sign out of Google, or use its account chooser, and try again — BrainSack accounts are matched on the address Google gives us.
It refused to link to your existing account
We only link when Google tells us it has verified the address itself. An unverified address is a claim rather than a fact, and trusting one would be a way for somebody to take over an account by asserting its owner’s email. Sign in with the password instead, and link Google afterwards.
You came back to the sign-in page with an error on it
The handshake was abandoned or the provider refused it. Try once more; if it keeps happening, sign in with a password and email us the wording on the page.
You want a password as well
Sign in with Google, open the Account page, and add one. Because the session is already proof of who you are, it does not ask for a current password.

Next

  • Create your account Sign up, confirm your email, and start the trial. Three steps, and the middle one is the one people miss.
  • When you cannot sign in Wrong password, unconfirmed address, too many attempts, or an account with no password at all — how to tell which.
  • Change your password Change it from the Account page, or set one for the first time on a Google account.
